He's been on the following TV shows: Larry King Live, Donny Deutsch's “The Big Idea,” CNN, CNBC, CBS, ABC, Fox News: Fox & Friends and Extra TV. He's also been featured in The New York Times and Newsweek. Highlights: * Joe shares the back story to how he became homeless in the late 1970’s and how the experience led to his becoming involved with personal growth and development. * Although he was in a difficult emotional place during the homeless period, Joe talks about what kept him going and what inspired him to keep moving forward. * He spent a lot of time at the public library readying personal growth and motivational books, which showed him a new way of thinking. * “Even though there was no evidence around me that I could be a success, I started to believe it could happen.” * His homeless period was so difficult that it’s hard for him to see the good in it. * “The thing that changes us the fastest is when we feel grateful for what we have right now.” * The sooner we start to understand that whatever we are going through is taking us to a higher place, the sooner we transform into the thing we have been longing for. * When Joe came out of homelessness, he lived in poverty for 10 years. So, for a long time, he fought the idea of being grateful where he was. He describes the moment when he realized he could chose to be grateful, which opened him up to new possibilities. * Joe’s defining moment came when, while reading the books at the library during his homeless stint, he realized that he had been modelling his life after self-destructive authors and that he could choose to believe that he could become a famous author. * “It keeps coming back to belief for me.” * What keeps people from believing in themselves? Joe talks about fear of success. * Most people believe that money is evil, and people can’t make much money when they believe that money is bad. * By changing the story about his homelessness, he can talk about it now. * Your inner reality is filtering the information that you let in. We don’t realize our reality is created by our filtering system. * Joe has recreated himself as a self-help songwriter and talks about his songs.   Links The Magic of Believing by Claude Bristol   (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OI56250/?tag=prospplace08-20) Get Joe’s Vitale’s book Attract Money Now (Free) http://attractmoneynow.com (http://attractmoneynow.com) Joe’s main site: www.JoeVitale.com (http://www.JoeVitale.com) Joan Sotkin: Holistic Business and Money Coach no

Highlights * Michael and I have both been doing business online since 1995. “The fact that we’ve lasted so long means that we must be doing something right.” For Michael, the key has been on providing real value for his customers. * His market is people who have an entrepreneurial or intreprenurial mindset. * On Michael’s site, org (http://successnet.org), he offers a variety of programs and a free membership. * Michael talks about his beginnings as a farmer and the other businesses he has been in. * Some of his business had “downs.” Michael discusses how he pulled himself out of the downs and the lessons he learned. * We had a discussion about the value of making mistakes and “failure.” “Perhaps we should redefine failure as being part of success.” * Big problem that business owners have: The need to feel good, which is an achievement killer. * Another is that people are a bit naïve about the effort it takes to succeed. * Focus on your strengths, not what you can’t do. * People who are better at building relationships will have an easier time of reaching success. * Anybody can be successful, even though we all have different talents. * Trying to be like others is a problem. You can model other’s behavior, without having to be with them. * “Look to see what others are doing, but don’t lose your core essence.” * Why it’s easier to not care what others think of you when you are more mature. * “Be the best you you can be.” Links: Michael’s site: SuccessNet.org (http://successnet.org) – Chelation Chelation Doctors - Acam.org (Acam.org) Joan Sotkin: Holistic Business and Money Coach no 35:44

But not that long ago, he was over $150,000 in debt and then, after one defining moment, turned his life around and was able to retire financially free 9 months later. Highlights * Robert shares the story of how he got into debt after he started making a lot of money with a pizza franchise he bought. Bottom line: he spent more than he made. * Because he and his wife didn’t understand managing cash flow, they didn’t know how to stay in the black. * Robert feels it’s important to do what you enjoy and that part of the problem with the pizza franchises was they stopped enjoying what they were doing. * His defining moment came when he went to a Harv Eckert’s Millionaire Intensive workshop weekend. As a result, they changed both their mindset and how they manage money. * Robert and his wife also simplified their life and realized that the toys they had been buying did not serve them. * It’s important to be aware and plan for the future. * Everything he went through, as difficult as it was, has helped him become the speaker and business person he is today. * To get out of a down mood, take a step forward then ask yourself how you’re doing. * His story illustrates that if you are open to solutions, the answer will show up. * Robert recently introduced an App called Amentora, which helps people bring their dreams into reality. * Past programming promotes individualism when collaborating with others is a better path to success. * Making one decision can affect your entire future “Get out of yourself and help other people.” “It doesn’t take money to make money, it takes creativity.” Links Roberts app, Amentrora http://amentora.com (http://amentora.com/ppp) Robert on Facebook http://Facebook.com/therobertriopel (http://Facebook.com/therobertriopel) Joan Sotkin: Holistic Business and Money Coach no 38:03

Your business is an extension of you. How much better could your business be doing if you were living a very healthy lifestyle? What steps are you willing to take in order to build a stronger business? What steps are you willing to take in order to build a stronger you? Highlights * You have the power to build a successful business if you take care of yourself and your money. * Anger uses up adrenal energy. Stress your adrenal glands and it affects your energy level. * One of the reasons you are loosing your drive and feeling tired is because you are stressing your adrenal glands when you're angry at everything all the time. * To reverse the damage anger causes - think about giving up your anger. You can make a conscious decision to do this. * Do you want to be rich or do you want to be dead? Anger eventually will use up your adrenal energy. You can turn it around. * Using up adrenal energy increases the aging process and the loss of energy level. * Book: Nourish Yourself for Health and Happiness - (free download) The book explains the blood sugar system and how the adrenal glands definitely affect your energy levels. * Part of the success equation is how you take care of yourself. Just as I take time talking about taking care of your personal money, I also talk with my clients about taking care of themselves. * There is always more to do. You can have the attitude "What ever gets done gets done" * What are the things that you have total control of that are going to affect your business outcomes? * The food you eat is the fuel for your body machine. When you give yourself the appropriate things, you are going to function better. * Eating "good" food in the long run, will save you money. * You can't afford to get sick as a solopreneur - You don't get paid when you don't work.  * Taking time off and resting is part of the health equation. * Essentials for your health: The food you eat, the air you breath, the water you drink, the exercise you get, and meditation. Any one can do them. It takes a decision. * Most chronic diseases are life-style caused. * You have the power to keep yourself healthy. * Biochemistry: In the booklet Nourish Yourself (http://prosperityplace.com) (free download) I explain how Serotonin is the main hormone produced using the chemicals found in the pancreas.  When you stress your pancreas by the foods you eat many things are affected. * Your moods are important for your business. If you are depressed it will affect your business. * Your business is an extension of you. How much better could your business be doing if you were living a very healthy lifestyle? * It is healthier to be nice than to be not nice. * Most disease is caused by not doing the things I've mentioned in this episode. * What steps are you willing to take in order to build a stronger business? * You have the power to build a successful business if you take care of yourself and your money.  Podcasts I have been interviewed on: Join up Dots with David Ralph (http://www.joinupdots.com/2014/12/26/242-joan-sotkin/) Cash Flow Diary with J. He wears lots of hats including landlord, private lender, real estate investing consultant, investment manager, speaker, author, mentor, and community advocate.   Joan’s Tip for Today: How to gradually withdraw from sugar, which is a highly-addictive substance, by increasing your awareness of how much sugar is in your food.  Highlights * J and his wife had physical problems, a credit score of 398, and no way to make money except selling possessions on eBay. * When a friend suggested that he invest in real estate and showed him how to do it, he bought his first property, despite the fact that his own house was in foreclosure and his credit score was dismal. By the end of six months, he generated a six-figure income. * He learned how to build a portfolio of mostly commercial properties. Now he teaches people how to do what he did. * “"Your story isn’t over. It’s just beginning. How you invest your time today will determine what tomorrow looks like. " * Something inside of him just wouldn’t give up because of his strong sense of responsibility. * Before he and his wife had their physical challenges, J was a financial planner. He came to realize that no matter how many investments a person had, the key to having enough for retirement is real estate investments. * “Life offers all of us an excuse and reasons to quit. I guess I just wasn’t willing to quit.” * If someone suggests something for you to do, but you don’t know how it can happen, say yes and learn what you have to learn. * Subject to Investing is the method J used to buy his first house, which took a lot of attempts before he closed a deal. * J shares how he got money for his first investments. * “If you build the person, the person will build the business.:” * “Wealth is team sport.” What is the team you need to build around you? * “Being attached to the outcome ruins a lot of entrepreneurs.” Links: CashFlowDiaryBook.com (http://CashFlowDiaryBook.com%20)– Get J’s book for just the cost of postage and handling J’s membership site (http://CashFlowDiary.com/training) Cash Flow Diary Podcast (http://cashflowdiary.com/category/podcast/)   SugarScience.org (http://SugarScience.org) - lots of information about the harmful effects of sugar. Do you have the courage to speak your truth? Do you have the courage to really be you? Being interviewed on other podcasts has given me a whole new perspective on my work and has given me the confidence to speak more honestly about what I know to be true. Highlights * How do we make our lives work? Is there something within us that creates our life stories? * There is so much more to us than we can perceive with our three-dimensional minds. When we realize there is more, we can create our lives from a more peaceful place. * When we try to describe something that exists in other dimensions, we are using three-dimensional language, so it can’t be accurate. * We all have the power of creation within us, and when we are aware that we are a part of a whole, we can accomplish more. * Our perception of the real rules for living is often limited. * If we all understand our connection and work together, our lives can be a lot more pleasant. * Each one of us has something unique to bring to the world, and every one of your life experiences has made you who you are. * What has happened to you and what you have done is not good or bad, it’s just what you’ve done, and you have the option of asking, “Is this what I want to keep on doing, or do I want to do it differently?” * As people get older, then tend to take fewer chances. * What if we aren’t stuck in three-dimensional reality? * If you see yourself as anything but special, you aren’t seeing the truth of you. * When we open our minds to that which lies beyond what we think is real, we enhance our lives in incredible ways. * What are you hiding about yourself that you are afraid to let out? * Once we say out loud who we are, then we can be free from a lot of our life struggles. He is also the founder of Wescott Capital, which holds interests in selected early-stage technology companies. Highlights * Greg shares his background in politics and how he switched to Wall Street. “I was tired of being poor.” * Greg’s view of Wall Street has positive aspects, especially the activities he is involved with now. * Since the financial crisis people are making a lot of money, except it isn’t filtering down to the average person, especially for those who need interest income, such as retired people. * Marketplace lending, which is what peer to peer investing is, is providing an avenue for people to get better interest rates on their investments. * Efficient, transparent way for individuals to generate a higher rate of return than traditional sources. * Greg explains who peer to peer investing (and borrowing) works. * A lot of peer to peer rules are set up on the state level, which is why in some states, like New Mexico, residents can’t be investors. * com only accepts accredited investors, which allows for people in all states to participate. * People come to P2P for a number of reasons including consolidation of credit card debt, to fund a small business, to make home improvements,, pay for medical billis, etc. * com doesn’t just look at credit scores, they evaluate a person’s entire situation. * Although the number varies, less than 50% of loan applications are actually funded. * The default rate is in the low single digits. * The big banks are in a bind. The polititians are telling them they need to lend more. At the same time, regulators are telling them not to lend and to get their houses in order. * Once the cost of money is normalized, there will be more changes implemented on Wall Street. * Dirivitis can be used as weapons of mass destruction. Part of the problem was that people didn’t understand the financial instruments they were selling. * P2P lending is creating new financial opportunities. * Greg believes that a lot of young people have an interest in reinventing the financial services industry and creating better ways of doing things.
